Does the best team always win the World Series?
Background: The major league baseball World Series is going on this week. Though the winner of the World Series is certainly a good team, you might wonder if they are always the best team – in terms of their record – or if they just got lucky in the final series. Check out the graph at this page: (Thumbnail shown below).
The graph shows the season-long record of each team in the league, and the World Series winner is shown in pink. The graph is a kind of histogram – for each year, the graph creator is showing the array of records of each team.
