About Acadia Learning for Participatory Science

Since 2007 Acadia Learning has been providing and facilitating research partnerships for teachers, students and scientists. What started as a January Term research partnership between Dr. Sarah Nelson (UMaine), Bill Zoellick (Schoodic) and teachers and students from Maine School for Science and Mathematics has grown into a model for sustained partnerships that, to date, have involved 37 teachers and over 2500 students in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

Schoodic Institute is an independent 501c3 nonprofit organization committed to guiding present and future generations to greater understanding and respect for nature by providing research and learning opportunities through its outstanding Acadia National Park setting, unique coastal Maine facilities, and innovative partnership programs.
